AUTOMATIC EXTENSION

It has been published today in the Official state gazette (BOE)  that in addition to the residency permits, the residence and work authorizations that have expired during the State of Alarm or during the 90 days prior to the start of the confinement (March 14, 2020) will be automatically extended for 6 months from the state of alarm.

Temporary residence, student TIE cards and / or work authorizations and residency authorizations

If they have expired during 90 calendar days prior to March 14, 2020, or during the State of Alarm, they will be automatically extended without the need for any resolution by the Immigration Office. This extension will start from the day after the authorization expires until 6 months after the end of the State of Alarm.

If the renewal has been submitted, but has not been resolved, the automatic extension will still apply. Once a resolution is issued the starting day of the effects of the permit will be the next day after it expired.
